Cheap Vacations to Martinique

The island of flowers
Martinique has several evocative nicknames, including "Island of Flowers" and "Island of Women?." You'll understand why when you set foot on Martinique. Bathed in light, steeped in music, trimmed with superb beaches and abounding with luxuriant vegetation, this island will inspire anyone who takes the time to discover it.

Going Out
In Fort-de-France there is always something to do in the evening (nightclubs, movies, theatre), but elsewhere on the island, evenings are fairly calm. The exception is luxury hotels, where you'll occasionally find a nightclub (the Méridien, the Carayou and the Batelière) or a casino (the Méridien and the Batelière).

The Carnival is a long-awaited festival that starts a few days before Ash Wednesday. During these days of jubilation, great vidés (parade-like events) are organized during which carnival-goers dress up and flood the streets of Fort-de-France, while dancing to frenzied rhythms.

Where on earth
Martinique is part of the Lesser Antilles. Its west coast looks out on the Caribbean, its east coast on the Atlantic. The closest islands are the Dominica, to the north, and St. Lucia, to the south.
